Student Dress Code

All students are expected to dress appropriately for an educational environment where learning is the central focus.  Any clothing items or accessories that significantly interfere with, or disrupt the educational environment, are unacceptable.

CLOTHING:
Clothing must cover the body from one armpit across to the other armpit and down to approximately the mid-thigh (see image below). Tops must have straps approximately one inch across. Undergarments must not be visible. Rips, holes, or tears in clothing must be below the knee. If holes, rips or tears are above the knee, no skin can be visible.
Clothing, jewelry, and personal items with language or images that are vulgar, sexually suggestive, discriminatory, obscene or libelous, or that promote illegal or violent content, such as the unlawful use of weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or drug paraphernalia, or clothing that contains threats, are prohibited. Pajamas, sleep wear, and blankets are not to be worn at school.
Students can wear only two matching items of red or blue, however both items may not be pants and a shirt.

HEADWEAR:
Hats and Hoods are permitted outdoors as a weather-protective measure.  Hats and hoods must be removed once indoors. Bandannas of any kind are not permitted.

FOOTWEAR:
Footwear must adequately protect students’ feet.  Closed toed shoes are preferred.  Sandals and other open toed footwear are permitted provided they have a substantial sole and back that straps around the heel.  Flip flops, slides, or slippers are not permitted.  Regardless of the shoe worn to school, students must wear closed toed athletic shoes for Physical Education class every day.
